How to compare forklift supplier quotes that differ by 2–3×
Why quotes for the same nominal capacity diverge, and the configuration checklist that makes supplier quotes comparable.

Why the same "2 t forklift" is quoted at 2–3× different prices
The headline capacity is not a machine specification. The price difference lives in: battery chemistry and capacity, mast sections and lift height, motor and controller brand, tyre type, attachment class, and whether the price includes the charger, spare parts and packing.
The configuration checklist
- Rated capacity at which load centre — 500 mm or 600 mm.
- Lift height and mast type (duplex, triplex, free lift) — and the collapsed height.
- Battery — chemistry, capacity, brand. The same truck with a different battery is a different price.
- Charger — included or not, onboard or external, input voltage.
- Motor and controller — stated brand or at least stated source.
- Tyres — solid, pneumatic, or non-marking; and the size.
- Attachments — class and whether the hydraulic circuit is included.
- Packing — export packing standard, and whether disassembly is included.
- Spare parts — what is included with the machine.
- Documentation — which certificates or documents come with it.
The 80/20 of quote comparison
Two lines kill most misleading comparisons: battery chemistry and capacity, and whether the charger is included. Ask those first. A quote without them is not yet a quote.
What a comparable comparison looks like
Every route quoted on the same ten lines, with what each includes and what it excludes written next to the number. If two quotes cannot be laid out side by side on identical rows, they are not comparable — no matter how close the totals look.
Handling the lowest quote
The lowest quote is usually lowest for a stated reason. Find it before you accept it. Common ones: smaller battery, thinner mast sections, no charger, no spare parts, packed loose instead of crated, or an attachment circuit that is not included.
What to confirm in writing
The full configuration list, what is included and excluded, the packing standard, the spare parts list, and the document names. Then the total means something.
